Bellwright Update Releasing Next Week

Donkey Crew and Snail Games announced their largest update so far for the Steam Early Access version of open-world survival RPG Bellwright. The “Maiden Voyage” update will release on December 9, 2025, and include a new map with new story quests, new armour and equipment, new animals and buildings, and a new Loyalty & Faction system. It will also include full controller support, a trade and caravans system for outposts, and additional quality-of-life features and improvements. The new map, Halmare Isles, is said to be around a quarter of the size of the original map.

Bellwright takes place in the medieval world of Karvenia. Players assume the role of a man framed for the murder of the prince and sentenced to death. Managing to escape his execution, he joins a rebellion against the tyrannical queen responsible for his death warrant and the suffering of his people. The game includes both solo and co-op gameplay combining action, life simulation, and town building. Players are tasked with building, managing, and expanding their own settlements with multiple progression paths for story quests.
