Space Scum Public Playtest Underway

by ·

Developer Sole Survivor Games and publisher Forklift Interactive are holding a playtest for dystopian sci-fi tactical RPG Space Scum. The playtest lets players explore the first of many planets that will be available in the full title. Those wishing to take part in the playtest can request access through the game’s Steam page.

Space Scum is set in a comic book-style universe with players attempting to assemble the biggest mercenary company in the outer rim of the galaxy. Players are able to choose the origins of their company before setting on missions across multiple procedurally-generated planets. The game features permadeath as players recruit, level up, and outfit their crew. Space Scum is in development for PC and does not yet have a release date.

Fascinated by the screens since I saw them, video games are a sorcery I quickly became obsessed with. This passion culminated with the discovery of the RPGs. At that time, they were likely the sole titles where story and world building mattered as much as gameplay. Now, I am writing about them, especially my favorite ones: the JRPGs!
