Urban Fantasy RPG Directorate Novitiate Gets New Trailer

Developer Nesting Games released a new trailer for its urban fantasy action RPG Directorate Novitiate. The minute-long video introduces protagonist Kana Luna, aka Mercury, while showing the contrasting everyday world and a hidden magical criminal empire in its reimagined 2006 Los Angeles setting.

Directorate Novitiate follows Mercury, who balances her everyday life with working as an assassin involved with the syndicate known as the Directorate. She must navigate threats and dangers including an underworld on the verge of war, magical forces, a serial killer, and more. Players will be able to make choices that can lead to characters becoming friends, foes, or romantic interests, as well as whether Mercury stays loyal to the Directorate.

The game features action combat combining third-person shooting and magic spells, with players able to utilise flashy Gun Kata moves. It also includes a levelling system with various perks and upgrades. Directorate Novitiate is currently in development for PC and is planned to release on Steam Early Access this summer.
