New Rue Valley, Shadow of the Road, Nested Lands Trailers Released

Owlcat Games released a trio of trailers for titles it is publishing during the weekend’s OTK Games Expo. The new videos feature a look at gameplay for Emotion Spark Studio’s narrative-driven Disco Elysium-inspired title Rue Valley, an open alpha gameplay trailer for Another Angle Games’s turn-based cRPG Shadow of the Road, and an introduction trailer for 1M Bits Horde’s settlement-building RPG Nested Lands (which is being published under the META Publishing sub-label).

Rue Valley follows a man trapped in a mysterious time loop during a psychotherapy session. Stuck in the small town of Rue Valley, players craft their own personality while dealing with other characters and unravelling the anomaly’s secrets. Players are able to store memories as well as unlock intentions and mindsets, with status effects that alter personalities, such as making the character more outgoing when drunk. Rue Valley is planned to release for PC via Steam, GOG.com, and the Epic Games Store, with a demo currently available on Steam.

Shadow of the Road is an isometric strategy RPG set in a version of Japan with steampunk technology. Players take on the role of a master strategist behind a team of fighters, each member with their own motivations. While the forces of the Emperor and the Shogunate are fighting for control, a British trade conglomerate has its own agenda. Player decisions can put characters on different paths as well as impacting their relationships. Shadow of the Road is in development for PC and is currently undergoing an open alpha playtest on Steam. Those looking to read more can check out Jahwon Corbett’s impression of its open alpha.

Nested Lands is set in a ruthless, plague-ravaged medieval world and sees players attempting to build up a settlement. Players assign roles to peasants in order to create and gather the rescources, tools, and facilities needed to survive. Other surviviors can be rescued and recruited in the world. Players will need to protect their people from weather, winter, bandits, and other random events. The game is currently available to wishlist on Steam and will include co-op multiplayer, while a demo is planned to release this week.
