Shadow of the Road Open Alpha Playtest Underway

Publisher Owlcat Games and developer Another Angle Games announced that they are holding an open alpha playtest for their turn-based cRPG Shadow of the Road. Those wishing to take part in the open alpha playtest can request access on Steam.

The open alpha playtest allows players to control four characters, which have different abilities and playstyles. Players can engage in several battles, with the final encounter serving as a boss fight. They can also accept and fulfill side quests, learning the game’s lore and mechanics.

Shadow of the Road is an isometric strategy RPG set in a version of Japan with steampunk technology. Players take on the role of a master strategist behind a team of fighters, each member with their own motivations. While the forces of the Emperor and the Shogunate are fighting for control, a British trade conglomerate has its own agenda. Player decisions can put characters on different paths as well as impacting their relationships. Shadow of the Road is in development for PC and is available to wishlist on Steam, but does not currently have a release window.
