Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column, we look to provide our readers with details on the major RPGs released in the last week. Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases where the game is still in development. Pricing is shown in US dollars before application of any discounts, local pricing may vary.


Alphadia III

The latest title in the Alphadia retro-styled turn-based RPG series Alphadia III, takes place prior to the events of Alphadia I. It follows an energi clone named Alfonso during the Energi War that tears the world apart, who sets out on a journey after starting to question everything he knows.

Pixel-graphic, real-time, creature-collecting RPG Creature Keeper sees players take on the role of a Creature Keeper in the magical land of Thera, looking to stop a sickness from causing calamity. The game features action combat as players assemble a team of beasts to fight against corrupted creatures. Players are able to use their own weapons and trinkets, grow food, and cook meals to help their creatures grow.


Empyreal

Action RPG Empyreal sees players controlling an elite mercenary who is part of an expedition to an unexplored planet in a far corner of the galaxy. The expedition uncovers a giant monolith built by a lost civilisation, only to discover the monolith is not as abandoned as they believed. The game features three distinct weapon types that significantly alter combat, branching storylines, and level-altering items called cartograms.


King Arthur: Legion IX

Turn-based tactical RPG King Arthur: Legion IX is a standalone follow-up to King Arthur: Knight’s Tale, set on the mythical island of Avalon. Players take on the role of Gaius Julius Mento, the leader of the Ninth Legion of Rome. He is gifted a demon army by the deceased emperor, Septimus Sulla, to escape Tartarus. However, Gaius stumbles upon the magical realm of the Lady of the Lake, deciding to try and conquer the island and establish Eternal Rome.


Pixelshire

Sandbox life sim Pixelshire takes players to the continent of Arcadia, where they can embark on adventures while building up their community. The game’s terraforming features allow players to carve rivers, create hills, and more. Players can assist other characters with their tasks, building up a wide variety of skills including farming, crafting, cooking, resource gathering, and more. They can also build and place houses for the town residents, customising the town to their wishes. PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch versions are planned to follow later this year.


Touhou Spell Carnival

Tactical RPG Touhou Spell Carnival takes place in the Touhou series’ regular setting of Gensokyo, a land isolated from the outside world where humans and yokai reside. The game sees shrine maiden Reimu Hakurei drawn into a festival to battle for shrine cards and discover the purpose behind mysterious pillars that have appeared across the land. It features bullet hell elements within its gameplay.


Toward Dawn

Retro-styled turn-based RPG Toward Dawn begins when Carys, an Incanter of the Two Dragons, survives the raiding of her temple and comes across Bleddyn, a Gwyllgi of the Coedwig. Bleddyn begrudgingly welcomes Carys to his forest home, and the two soon set out to investigate the events that have altered their lives. They eventually come across and rescue Idwal Thornfield, the meek first-born son and heir to the Thornfield demesne. The game features a combat system with three difficulty options that focuses on breaking the enemies’ poise to stop their actions and make them vulnerable.


Undivine

Pixel-graphic Metroidvania Undivine sees players controlling someone known only as the traveler, who arrives at a desolate village. The villagers are in fear of a giant hole that has opened up in the village’s centre, swallowing many of its residents, with those brave enough to venture inside not being seen again. Players venture inside, discovering an interconnected world filled with numerous secrets to uncover.


Vambrace: Dungeon Monarch

Vambrace: Dungeon Monarch puts players in the role of a Dungeon Monarch in a dark fantasy world, chosen to guard a dungeon under the command of a divine being, whose golden throne is coveted by many forces. Players are tasked with repelling those invading their liege’s domain, including adventurers and deities. The game features 2.5D graphics and real-time gameplay, with the units summoned on the battlefield acting on their own while players use their cards to support them. The cards played can unleash offensive spells, boost the allies, weaken the enemies, and more.


Wings of Endless

Pixel-art action RPG Wings of Endless follows Hariku, a brash bounty hunter, who is accompanied by talking owl Owly and other allies. A seemingly routine job of his turns into an adventure that involves the secrets of an ancient war believed to have ended generations in the past. The game features action combat where players can switch between the three distinct heroes on the fly. It features a variety of biomes from deserts and marshlands to forests and snowy climates, each with their own challenges and puzzles. The game also includes a potion crafting system where players can mix ingredients for different effects.


Yes, Your Grace: Snowfall

Platform: PC, Mac

Kingdom management simulation RPG Yes, Your Grace: Snowfall is set in a Slavic-folklore inspired medieval world. It sees players attempting to lead their kingdom to prosperity, choosing whether and how to aid petitioners, sending agents on missions, and caring for their family. Console versions are planned to follow at a later date.
