Gothic 1 Remake Demo Updated

Developer Alkimia Interactive and publisher THQ Nordic have released an updated version of its demo for Gothic 1 Remake. The changes to the demo, currently available on Steam and also referred to as the “Nyras Prologue”, are the result of feedback received from its release in February. The companies released a special behind-the-scenes “making of” video, discussing the demo and its feedback.

The Gothic 1 Remake is being developed for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X, though a release window has not been announced. The original game was developed by Piranha Bytes and released for PC in 2001, with a Nintendo Switch port released in 2023. The game is an action RPG set in a medieval fantasy realm where anyone found breaking the law is sent to the giant penal colony of Khorinis to mine the much needed ore for a war effort against an Orcish invasion. It spawned two official follow-ups, as well as the Arcania spin-off that was originally titled Arcania: Gothic 4.
