Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army Introduces More Characters, Progression Systems

Atlus released new details and media for Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army, its upcoming remaster of PlayStation 2 action RPG Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The Soulless Army. The new details introduce some of the important characters in the game, as well as its skill-based progression systems.

The third title in the Devil Summoner spin-off series to the Megami Tensei franchise, Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army is set in an alternate Japan in the year 1931 and follows apprentice detective Raidou Kuzunoha XIV. He moonlights as a Devil Summoner assigned to protect Tokyo. Raidou works at the Narumi Detective Agency, where a high school girl named Kaya requests for the agency to kill her, before she is suddenly kidnapped. Raidou’s investigations take him around the city and into the mysterious Dark Realm where demons reside.

Kenzo Satake is a captain of the yakuza Kanto Haguro Family. He is well-liked by both his men and the people of the capital, and readily collaborates with Raidou using his wide contact network. Sadakichi is an army private who has deserted in an attempt to expose a secret super soldier project. He tries to contact a newspaper reporter and has a seemingly laid-back attitude. Kiyoshi Daidouji is the younger brother of the Daidouji family and Kaya’s uncle. He runs Daidouji Textiles, but the company is on the verge of bankruptcy after its machinery falls behind its competitors.

The Hell’s Pawns are a mysterious group responsible for Kaya’s kidnapping. They have inhuman fighting power and appear to be connected to the aforementioned super soldier project. Finally, Red Cape is an enigmatic creature that is causing fear among the citizens after being spotted in multiple locations. Some say that it abducts people, others that it randomly attacks them.

Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army will feature over 120 demons to recruit and use battle, adding over 50 new demons including ones who appeared in Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon and Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance. In addition, Raidou himself can learn special Summoner Skills from weapons. These are split into Combat Skills, which increase combat ability in battle, and Sword Skills, which apply automatically when equipped. More skills are obtained by creating new weapons through Sword Alchemy.

Demons can also learn both Combat Skills and Passive Skills. Allied demons can learn new skills from levelling up as well as through demon fusion. Skill books also allow players to teach new skills to demons; these skills can be mastered by the demon, making them available to be passed on through demon fusion. Finally, demons have a Loyalty measurement towards players. Loyalty increases as a demon accompanies players and participates in battle. Once Loyalty is maximised, the demon will learn a Passive Skill and provide useful materials and items. The total amount of Loyalty also determined the player’s Devil Summoner rank, with new levels granting bonuses such as new character titles and the ability to use more demons.

Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army will release worldwide on June 19, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. A physical edition is planned for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
