GreedFall II: The Dying World Gets Major Early Access Update
Publisher NACON and developer Spiders released a major update for the Early Access version of GreedFall II: The Dying World. The update, whose main additions and changes are highlighted in the video viewable below, adds a new region, companion, and more.
The update lets players explore Olima, which is nicknamed the “City of Stars” due to the gigantic observatory overlooking it. At Olima, players can accept new quests and solve them through diplomacy, violence, or other ways. They can also recruit a new companion named Safia, a renowned explorer who fights with firearms and provides buffs to her teammates. The update improves the combat system and adds new weapons, including rifles and swords, as well as new skill trees. The full details pertaining to the update can be found here.
GreedFall II: The Dying World is set three years before the events of GreedFall. In a reversal of roles, players control a native of the island of Teer Fradee who is sent on a mission to perform an initiation ritual to become a Doneigad (a “sage” in the local language). As a Doneigad, they will be expected to act as a protector for the people and lands, which have been encroached on by colonisation efforts from foreign powers. Players will have a variety of decisions to make and abilities to utilise that will impact their encounters and relationships with others. GreedFall II: The Dying World is planned to fully release in 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
