Dragon Age: The Veilguard Shows New Locations
EA and BioWare released their latest blog post and short video clips for Dragon Age: The Veilguard. The newest post teases the game’s exploration and locations, highlighting the Arlathan Forest, the Hossberg Wetlands, Minrathous, Rivain, and Treviso. As players explore the game’s locales, they will be able to find loot, puzzles, and lore, with multiple ways of getting around, including fast travel. Companions will come with different exploration abilities, such as Bellara tinkering with Elven artifacts. Players may also spot their companions out on their own in the world.
In addition, the blog post quickly covered the Lighthouse and the Crossroads. The Lighthouse serves as the game’s hub. Each companion — and protagonist Rook — has their own room, which will be decorated and change as the story continues. Players can also find the Caretaker’s Workshop in the Lighthouse, which upgrades and enchants items. Meanwhile, the Crossroads is a meeting place for many Eluvians, accessible from the Lighthouse. It serves as players’ main connection to the rest of the world of Thedas. The Caretaker acts as a guide in the Crossroads, taking the party to islands in the Fade. The Crossroads also features numerous puzzles and leads to various bits of side content.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard sees players control a new protagonist named Rook, who must fight back after corrupt Elven gods break free and wreak havoc upon the world. They will be joined by seven companions: Harding the Scout, Neve the Detective, Lucanis the Mage Killer, Bellara the Veil Jumper, Emmrich the Necromancer, Davrin the Warden, and Taash the Dragon Hunter. Dragon Age: The Veilguard will release for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on October 31, 2024.
