New Release Round-Up (August 8, 2024)

Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with details on all of the RPGs released this week. Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases where the game is still in development.

Bleak Faith: Forsaken

Action RPG Bleak Faith: Forsaken sees players exploring their own path through the remnant of civilisations within the perpetually-expanding, interconnected Omnistructure. The game features a class and perk system built around multiple gameplay styles and weapon types, with combat focusing on positioning, timing, and resource management.

Cat Quest III

Cat Quest III is set in the Purribean archipelago, where Pi-rats swarm in search of a mythical treasure called the Northern Star. Players are joined by a trusty spirit companion and sail the seas in their own ship. The world can be freely explored with areas visited, characters met, and quests taken on in whatever order players wish.

Deathbound

Action RPG Deathbound is set on the medieval world of Ziêminal, which mixes a technological past with a medieval present and where life and death clash. Players control a being that is the result of experimentation for eternal life held by the Cult of Life, using the Binding System to absorb the essences of fallen warriors to shape their own play style.

SteamWorld Heist II

SteamWorld Heist II is the latest title in Thunderful’s SteamWorld franchise. The game sees players joining Captain Leeway and his ragtag crew as they face down a menace in the Great Sea. The game feature real-time naval combat as well as turn-based strategic gunfights.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime ISEKAI Chronicles

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime ISEKAI Chronicles is an action RPG based on the light novel (turned anime and manga) series That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. The game lets players relive the series’ anime story while also including additional story content as players build up the Jura Tempest Federation. It features a side-scrolling action combat system as well as city-building elements.
