Dragon Age: The Veilguard Gameplay Footage Revealed

EA and BioWare released the first gameplay reveal for Dragon Age: The Veilguard. The twenty-minute video shows a cinematic sequence at the start of the game, as new player character Rook and their allies, including returning characters Varrick and Harding, attempt to stop a ritual being performed by Solas.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard will take players across numerous regions of the world of Thedas, including Rivain, Weisshaupt, Arlathan, Minrathous, and the Deep Roads. As in previous games, players can choose one of three classes — Warrior, Mage, or Rogue — for their player character, with each having their own advanced specalisation options, as well as customising their appearance and part of their backstory. They will be joined by seven companions: Harding the Scout, Neve the Detective, Lucanis the Mage Killer, Bellara the Veil Jumper, Emmrich the Necromancer, Darvin the Warden, and Taash the Dragon Hunter.

Combat will see Rook joined by two of their companions, the game utilising a new customisable ability wheel, with which players can pause action while issuing commands and using abilities. Between missions, players will be able to return in the hub in the Lighthouse, where they can learn more about the world and converse with their allies. Dragon Age: The Veilguard is planned to release this fall for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
