Xuan Yuan Sword: The Gate of Firmament PS5 Physical Release Announced

Publisher Eastasiasoft has announced action RPG Xuan Yuan Sword: The Gate of Firmament will be getting an international physical release for the PlayStation 5. The PlayStation 5 version of the game, originally developed by Softstar Entertainment, will include enhancements such as faster loading times, higher-resolution graphics, and all prior DLC. Pre-orders will go live on Playasia on February 22, 2024, at 11am Hong Kong time (3am GMT / 10pm ET / 7pm PT). A Limited Edition will include the base game, a manual, a soundtrack CD, and a numbered certificate in a collector’s box. The standard game will also be available.

Xuan Yuan Sword: The Gate of Firmament combines Chinese history and mythology, taking place in the Shang Dynasty. The story begins with the Jade Emperor opening the gates of heaven in the hopes of finding a mortal worthy enough to be gifted with divine powers to help find his lost daughter. This power would be abused, bringing havoc to the mortal realm and causing the gates of heaven to be sealed again to protect it from disaster. A young man from the mortal realm, Sikong Yu, must lead a group of heroes to bridge the realms and restore peace. The game features real-time combat and gives players the ability to capture demons and turn them into allies, fuse with them, or use them to enhance equipment.

I have been gaming since I received the Sega Master System as a young child, which was the first console I ever owned (Yes, I am that old). The game that got me into RPGs was Final Fantasy VIII, a game that I still adore to this day. My favorite RPG of all time, however, is Shadow Hearts on the PS2. I do have many other interests outside of gaming as well, such as watching old-school wrestling, Reading books, 80s movies.... or anything 80s related as a matter of fact.
