Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Demo Available, More Footage Shown

Sony and Square Enix held a special State of Play presentation focused on the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. The twenty-minute presentation began with a new trailer hinting at many of the events to come, before showing new footage highlighting the large open-regions and various locations in the game as well as new gameplay elements and side content, its presentation elements, and more.

The presentation ended with the reveal that a demo version is available to download and play on PlayStation 5 now. The demo contains the flashback sequence in Nibelheim featuring Cloud and Sephiroth, with an update to be applied before the game’s launch that will also let players explore part of the Junon region in the demo.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is set to release for PlayStation 5 on February 29, 2024. The game acts as the second part of the planned Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, picking up immediately after the events of Remake and the party’s escape from Midgar.
