River City: Rival Showdown Releases Adding New Scenario

Arc System Works announced that its upcoming PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch release of brawler River City: Rival Showdown will include an additional story scenario. “Riki’s Story” will show Riki’s side of the events during the game. It is unlocked by completing “River City: Yamada’s Side” or having River City Saga: Three Kingdoms save data present.

River City: Rival Showdown will release for its new platforms on October 12, 2023, priced at $24.99. The game originally released for Nintendo 3DS in Japan in 2016 and internationally in 2017. It is a remake of the original 1989 NES title River City Ransom featuring new story paths and endings, and comes with a fighting game, Double Dragon Duel 2023, included. The game gives protagonist Kunio just three days to figure out why he is being targeted by others and to solve the latest kidnapping of Ricki’s girlfriend.
