Action Roguelike An Ankou Coming to Steam Early Access This Month

Publisher PID Games and developer Alkemi Games announced that the developer’s latest title, An Ankou, will release on Steam Early Access on August 17, 2023. The initial Early Access version of the action roguelike will be available for $4.99. The game is expected to spend six to twelve months in Early Access, with the developer planning bi-weekly updates.

An Ankou is inspired by French folklore and is set in an alternative version of 19th-century Brittany. Players control the Ankou, a servant of death. Acting as one of three classes — Soldier, Apothecary, or Nun — players are reborn into the world to reincarnate spirits and send them to their enternal rest, all while demons flood the lands of the living. The game features open maps with random encounters and various bosses, with players able to gather resources, craft equipment, and level up to help themselves fight.
