Super Mario RPG Remake Announced

During its latest Nintendo Direct presentation, Nintendo announced a remake of Super Mario RPG. The remake of the Super Nintendo title Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, originally developed by Square and released in Japan and North America in 1996, will launch worldwide on Nintendo Switch on November 17, 2023.

Super Mario RPG is the first RPG in the Mario franchise and sees Mario attempt to defeat Smithy, who’s stolen the seven star pieces of Star Road. Mario is joined in his quest by Bowser and Princess Peach, as well as original characters Mallow and Geno. The game features turn-based combat with a three-member party as well as 3D exploration and platforming elements.
