Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed Launching Next Week

Nintendo announced that the fourth and final volume of Xenoblade Chronicles 3s Expansion Pass will launch worldwide on April 25, 2023. The final volume, Future Redeemed, contains a brand new story that is set before the events of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and connects it to both Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Players do not need to have played Xenoblade Chronicles 3 to access Future Redeemed, but do need to own the game and Expansion Pass.

In addition, Nintendo announced that the Pyra + Mythra 2-pack amiibo figures will be released on July 21, 2023. Scanning these figures lets player change the sword for Noah’s Swordfighter class to Pyra or Mythra’s Aegis Sword. The sword skins will also be made available at a later date for all players who meet certain conditions. The company also announced that Noah and Mio amiibo figures will be released, with more details to be revealed at a later date.

Future Redeemed features a new part of characters. Matthew is a young man fighting for an organisation opposing Moebius who is looking for his sister Nael alongside his companion A, who wields a red sword. Nikol is a soldier of Keves who excels in mechanical engineering and uses a machanical arm to fight, while Glimmer is an Agnus soldier who uses a staff. Meanwhile, Shulk and Rex are older versions of the protagonists of the previous games, who lead their liberation organisation. A final eighth major character’s details are currently unknown, but they are recognised by Shulk.

The expansion will also include some new gameplay elements. As opposed to the combined Ouroboros forms of the main game, party members can use Ouroboros Arts that are more powerful than regular Arts and combine them with other Arts. Two characters can also work together to unleash powerful Unity Combo attacks. Players will also pick up bonus points for actions such as meeting new people and exploring areas, which can be spent on improving character attributes.

Released on Nintendo Switch in 2022, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is set in a world of Aionios, which connects the futures of the settings of Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. It follows protagonists Noah and Mio as they navigate the hostilities between the nations of Keves and Agnus. Noah is a soldier from Keves, while Mio is a soldier from Agnus, both of whom are joined by allies from their side.
