Persona 5: The Phantom X Announced for China

Publisher Perfect World Games and developer Black Wings Game Studio have announced Persona 5: The Phantom X. The game is a new title based upon Persona 5, but featuring a new story about another group of Phantom Thieves. It is still set in Tokyo, with Atlus providing resources and supervision for the game.

The game has currently only been announced for release in China as a free-to-play title on iOS and Android. A playtest will be taking place that indicates the game will also be coming to PC, with the playtest to be available on PC and Android.

Persona 5: The Phantom X will feature a similar style and basic gameplay to Persona 5, with players controlling a high-school student spending their time attending classes and participating in activities while also infiltrating otherworldly Palaces. The game’s theme is “desire”, with it also featuring its own version of the Velvet Room and the protagonist allying with an owl who can speak to humans.
