Broken Lines’s The Dead and the Drunk Arrives on Console

Publisher Blowfish Studios and developer Bird Island have released a free DLC expansion for tactical RPG Broken Lines on latest-generation consoles. The Dead and the Drunk expansion — first released on PC in 2020 — is now available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It adds a new campaign where the squad crash lands in an unknown country and must face off against both an unknown enemy and hordes of undead with updated mechanics. Fortunately, plenty of booze is available to help them take the edge off the situation.

Broken Lines originally released for PC in 2020, with a Nintendo Switch version following later that year and PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S versions released in 2022. It is set during an alternate-history version of World War II and features a heavy focus on characters and story. The game follows a squad of eight British soldiers who are left behind enemy lines after their plane crash-lands and whose personalities are affected by the events they witness. Players also make important decisions that affect how the story plays out.
