Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis Receives Trailer, Beta Pushed to Summer

Square Enix released a new trailer for Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis. The video shows gameplay, story, and structural elements from the title, which collects the events from the assorted Compilation of Final Fantasy VII games including the original Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, and Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII.

The video also comes with news that the game’s closed beta, originally planned for this year, is now set for summer 2023 for iOS and Android in specific regions. Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis and its individual chapters will be free, with microtransactions coming in the form of weapon loot boxes. The original Final Fantasy VII section, for example, will cover around ten chapters, with the “Escape from Midgar” section covering the first three. It will also feature a new mode that lets players select their own non-canon party for special dungeons and battles.
