Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with details on all of the RPGs released over the week. Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases where the game is still in development.
Doraemon Story of Seasons: Friends of the Great Kingdom
Doraemon Story of Seasons: Friends of the Great Kingdom is a follow-up to Doraemon Story of Seasons, a crossover between the Doraemon franchise and the Bokujō Monogatari/Story of Seasons farming sim series. Friends of the Great Kingdom contains a new story and setting as Noby and his friends travel to a brand new planet. There, they make a new friend whom they decide to help achieve their dreams of building up a ranch. Players can use Doraemon’s special gadgets to help them farm, with the game also including local two-player co-op.
Dragon Prana is a pixel-art turn-based RPG. The game sees an evil king break free after being sealed for 120 years. Players control the descendants of the heroes who originally sealed him, and have access to over twenty classes.
For a Vast Future
Retro-styled RPG For a Vast Future is set in the war-torn world of Seralia, where decades of fighting have finally come to an end, leaving the survivors to try and pick up the pieces. The game follows teenager Chel as she goes on a lengthy trip to find the secrets of the previous generation, finding both allies and foes. Combat uses a fast-paced, active-time battle system with players able to choose their characters’ stat upgrades and weapon proficiencies as well as make use of crafting and ammo systems.
Harvestella is set in a fantasy world where four crystals called the Seaslight create harmony between the four seasons. However, abnormalities appear leading to the Quietus, a season of death that occurs between the seasons. Players control a male, female, or non-binary protagonist who was saved by a doctor in the village of Lethe after collapsing during the Quietus. They set out on adventures while investigating the issues with the Seaslight, as well as participating in daily life activities such as farming.
Sword and Fairy: Together Forever
Sword and Fairy: Together Forever, the console title for Sword and Fairy 7, is the latest in the Chinese mythology-based series that began in 1995 and the first to use an action combat system. The game tells a story that connects three major clans: Human, Deity, and Demon.
