One Piece Odyssey Dev Diary Showcases Gameplay

Bandai Namco released a new developer diary video for the upcoming One Piece Odyssey. The eleven-minute video, in Japanese with English subtitles, features Producer Katsuaki Tsuzuki and Composer Motoi Sakuraba as well as Weekly Shonen Jump’s One Piece Editor-in-Chief Ken Takano. They discuss the game’s creation with developer ILCA, its music, and the involvement of series creator Eiichiro Oda, as well as demonstrating some of its gameplay elements, including its turn-based combat.

One Piece Odyssey helps mark the series’ 25th anniversary and will feature an original story. It sees the Straw Hats, led by Monkey D. Luffy, marooned and separated from each other on a mysterious island following a storm that destroys their ship, the Thousand Sunny. One Piece Odyssey is planned to release worldwide later this year on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
