New Release Round-Up (April 7, 2022)

Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with details on all of the RPGs released over the week. Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases where the game is still in development.

Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition

Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition is a remaster of PlayStation title Chrono Cross. The game is set in the same world as Chrono Trigger and follows a teenage boy named Serge who finds himself in a parallel reality where he died. The Radical Dreamers Edition includes upgraded 3D models, the ability to switch enemy encounters on and off, combat enhancement features, an auto-battle option, and the option to choose between pixel or HD fonts and original or updated graphics. The release also contains the connected text-based adventure game Radical Dreamers, which was previously released only in Japan for the Super Famicom Satellaview peripheral.

Godfall: Ultimate Edition

Action RPG Godfall sees players taking on groups of enemies before engaging in head-to-head fights against bosses. The game features co-op for up to three players, with enemies changing their behaviour to suit the current number of players. The Ultimate Edition release includes the Fire & Darkness expansion, as well as the original Ascended Edition and pre-order bonuses.

Legend of Ixtona

Legend of Ixtona is a strategy RPG set in the kingdom of Ixtona. is a retro-styled turn-based JRPG. It follows Prince Kyle, after his brother Erbax murders his father and seizes the crown.

Picontier

Picontier is set on a magical island where the player character has been asleep for many years. After waking up, they start a new life in the town of Magmail, guided by Aila, while investigating the substance Piconium that only exists on this island as well as a mysterious black fog. The game features numerous life and farming simulation elements, as players interact with the island inhabitants, collect materials from the environment and monsters, and craft items and weapons.
