Kickstarter Check-In: Glory Hunters
Developer 2think design studio has begun a Kickstarter campaign for Game Boy action adventure RPG Glory Hunters. The game is planned for release as a digital ROM as well as on Steam, with physical cartridges also to be produced in partnership with Bitmap Soft.
Glory Hunters makes heavy use of glory points as an in-game currency and progression system and gives players licence to explore where they can. As players complete deeds while gathering materials, completing quests, aiding townsfolk, and diving into dungeons, they obtain glory points that can be spent on upgrades, items, or hired help. The player’s overall goal is to wake up one of four gods in order to cleanse the land of monsters. Should they succeed in this quest, they can start over to try and awaken a different one, or attempt to awaken all four within a single playthrough.
2think design studio is looking for MX$800,000 in funding (around $40,000), with the campaign set to run until May 25, 2022. Those who pledge at least MX$200 (around $10) will receive a digital ROM and a Steam code for the game as part of their backer rewards, with a physical cartridge available from the MX$1,400 (around $69) tier. A demo is available to try out on itch.io.
