BioWare Teases New Dragon Age, Mass Effect
BioWare released a pair of new teaser videos for the upcoming titles in its Dragon Age and Mass Effect series. The Dragon Age trailer is narrated by Brian Bloom, returning as Varric, and also shows other returning character Solas. Meanwhile, the Mass Effect trailer goes through various parts of outer space before showing an Asari picking up a destroyed piece of N7 gear.
Dragon Age is a fantasy RPG series, set primarily on the continent of Thedas. The series began with Dragon Age: Origins, which was released for PC, Mac, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 in 2009. Dragon Age II was released for the same platforms in 2011, with Dragon Age: Inquisition released for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One in 2014. The three games each feature different player-created protagonists, but player decisions from previous games can be transferred and have potentially significant impacts on the state of the world.
Mass Effect is a sci-fi shooter RPG series set in the Milky Way towards the end of the 22nd century. After an initial contact war, humanity has found a place in galactic society with other space-faring species. The trilogy sees players controlling Commander Shepard, who becomes the first human SPECTRE, an elite agent acting on behalf of the galaxy’s ruling Council. A fourth game, Mass Effect: Andromeda, takes players to the Andromeda galaxy with a new cast and story. The Mass Effect Legendary Edition, which will include remastered versions of Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3, is planned to launch for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in spring 2021.
