Kickstarter Check-In: Dwerve

Half Human Games has begun a Kickstarter campaign for its tower defence and adventure RPG hybrid Dwerve. The game counts SNES-era Legend of Zelda titles such as A Link to the Past as a major inspiration.

Dwerve stars a young dwarven tinkerer who explores ruins around Mount Crowcrest to uncover the lost technology found within in order to help dwarvenkind fight off Witch Queen Vandra the Wicked and her army. Combat is based on the placement of turrets to fight off enemies, with players assisting with their own attacks, including a boomerang. Players can uncover new abilities by finding artifacts, as well as upgrading their turrets, each with its own upgrade tree.

The campaign has already passed its initial $10,000 goal, and is set to run until September 25, 2020. Those who pledge at least $15 will receive a digital copy of the game as part of their backer rewards. The game is being developed for PC, Mac, and Linux and is currently expected to launch in 2021, with a demo available to download from the game’s Steam page.
