Yakuza: Like a Dragon Shows Isezaki Ijincho, More Jobs

Sega provided more details, screenshots, and gameplay footage for Yakuza: Like a Dragon in a couple of updates this week. The first of those updates involved the second part of a video series featuring producer Masayoshi Yokoyama and voice actors Kazuhiro Nakaya (Ichiban Kasuga), Yuichi Nakamura (Joon-gi Han), Eri Kamataki (Eri Kamataki), and Iroha Yanagi (Iroha Yanagi). The entirely Japanese video focuses on the game’s job (class) system, showing many examples of potential jobs on offer, as well as the multiple choice tests that players can use to help increase Ichiban Kasuga’s attributes.

The second update features plenty of screenshots showing the district of Isezaki Ijincho in Yokohama, where new protagonist Ichiban Kasuga ends up after being released from prison and abandoned by his former allies. The district is three times the size of the series’ regular setting of Kamurocho. It is divided into sub-districts that have their own characters, such as the flashy Isezaki Road shopping area, the brothel district, Korea Town, and Kounai Station. Two more characters were also shown: Hamako manages a small restaurant and helps those forced into prostitution to make ends meet, while Nonomiya manages a brothel and is known for not treating the women working there kindly.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon is the newest title in the series and is known as Yakuza 7 in Japan. It is set to be released for PlayStation 4 in Japan on January 16, 2020, with a western release coming sometime later in 2020. A demo is currently available in Japan.
