Morgana Introduces Persona 5 Scramble’s Sapporo

Atlus released the third entry in its Morgana’s Travel Report series of videos, as well as some new screenshots, for Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers. The latest update focuses on the city of Sapporo, one of the cities that the Phantom Thieves travel to as part of investigating a series of Palace-related incidents across Japan.

Sapporo is located on the northern island of Hokkaido and is known for its historic buildings and hot springs. It is home to a rising politician named Mariko Hyoudou, whose popularity is through the roof. Sapporo’s Jail (Scramble’s Palace equivalent) has an ice theme and includes elements such as walls of ice and snowboarding.

The video also detailed the game’s Persona strengthening system, which is very similar to that of Persona 5. Joker has the ability to switch freely between Personas and can use it to gain a significant advantage in battles. New Personas can be obtained by picking up Masks dropped by enemy Shadows.

Joker can also visit the Velvet Room, where he can combine two (or more) Personas to create new Personas and carry over bonus abilities to the new Persona. He can also spend Persona Points, which are obtained in battle and from fusion, to level up his Personas and improve their attributes. Meanwhile, skill cards are special items that let Personas learn specific skills.

Persona 5 Scramble will be released for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan on February 20, 2020. The game is a spin-off/sequel being developed by Atlus alongside Koei Tecmo’s Omega Force studio and takes place in the summer following the events of Persona 5 as the Phantom Thieves travel to a number of cities across Japan following a new Palace-related incident.
