New Phoenix Point PC Release Date Announced

Snapshot Games announced that its upcoming tactical RPG Phoenix Point will now be released for PC on December 3, 2019. The game will be available exclusively through the Epic Games Store in three editions: the $39.99 Base Edition, the $59.99 Deluxe Edition, and the $99.99 Ultra Edition. The Deluxe Edition includes a desktop wallpaper, in-game Living Gun and Chitin Armor sets, a digital art book, and a compendium, while the Ultra Edition includes all of the content from the Deluxe Edition plus a season pass that will include five pieces of DLC.

Phoenix Point is billed as a spiritual successor to the X-COM series, which was created by studio head Julian Gollop. The game is set in 2047 with Earth under attack from an alien force with players acting as the leader of a cell in a secretive organisation called the Phoenix Project. As part of the effort to save humanity, they will need to build their forces and interact with three remaining factions, each with different ideas of how to deal with the invasion.

In its release date announcement, Snapshot Games also confirmed console releases for the game. It will come to Xbox One sometime in Q1 2020, with a PlayStation 4 release following later in the year.
