Episode 77: E3 Q&A SaGa – Q&A Quest
This week in Q&A Quest, staff member Joshua Carpenter joins us as we discuss some of the many fun announcements to come out of E3 thus far. We also lament the lack of a localized version of Dragon Quest XI for the 3DS.

There was actually a mention to something I was thinking about asking. What do you think of working designs localizations? And one hand you could say they were some of best written at the time, but some people hate the stule.
Sorry typos, to bad this site version doesn’t have an edit function.
Fire emblem awakening was what Nintendo considered a huge success. And I can see why. Do you think that was more of lighting in a bottle, or does the new switch game have a chance to take it even further towards popularity?
I’m not sure how well birthrite and all it’s other games and dlc sold, but I’m assuming well.
My memory is terrible, but I’m pretty sure that Birthright and Conquest put together slightly outsold Awakening. So somewhere between 1.5 and 2 million worldwide.
I want to say that it was something like 60% Birthright to 40% Conquest on the split.
I’m so happy for the series, since at one point they were acting like awakening was going to be the swan song. Funny how that works.
Good episode, glad you were on it.
Birthright outsold Conquest?!?!?!?!?!!? NOOOOOOOOOOOO[redacted]
Remember when it was common for rpgs to have optional and secret characters? It’s been a while since I’ve seen that attempted.
Who all is buying octopath traveler next month? Have you taken the time to look at the characters, and possibly pick a favorite? Or are you just waiting to play it to see. I see there is going to be a second demo.
Do you feel rpg demos are generally not effective or bad? I do, and I can think of about four or five reasons why this is, some less obvious.
Why is it (or why do you think), Square Enix has had several of their games on 3DS and Switch published by Nintendo rather than doing it themselves? There’s the Dragon Quest games, Bravely Default and Second, the upcoming Octopath Traveler, and even The World Ends with You: Final Remix is being published by Nintendo. I’m surprised by that last one since it was SE that published the original DS version. Does this mean that Square might have passed these games over if it weren’t for Nintendo? I imagine there’s more to it than that.
A little side note on tales, I know Dave especially and a little bit wheels, feel vesperia is just okay. I feel it’s the best tales games in almost every way outside of the combat system. As far as art style, music, characters, voice acting, world. Vesperia tales the cake. If only it had graces combat.
Is it bad that the only announcements I was excited for at E3 were Cosmic Star Heroine Switch and Yakuza 0/Kiwami on PC?
Would it be possible to re-enact the Wade Boggs/Barney scene from The Simpsons with Phantasy Star 4 and Shining Force II?
Speaking of Shining Force (allegedly), have any of the action RPGs with the Takara art ever been good? Resonance is not qualifying for me.
