Kadath Announces Under Mythos

Japanese developer Kadath has announced its debut title, dark fantasy action RPG Under Mythos. The game is initially slated for a 2028 release window and is available to wishlist on Steam, with additional platforms yet to be confirmed. The game’s development staff includes character designer Atsuko Nishida (Pokémon), scenario writer Takumi Miyajima (Tales of Symphonia, Tales of the Abyss), composer Noriyuki Iwadare (Grandia and Lunar series), and producer Yoichi Miyaji (Grandia and Lunar series).

Under Mythos is themed around taking care of guests at a mysterious hot spring inn while undertaking dungeon expeditions for food and resources, as the world gradually descends into madness. It follows a lone cat who wanders into another world and discovers a mysterious hot spring inn while searching for their mother. The cat chooses to work at the inn, hoping it will lead them being reunited with their mother; however, the world appears to grow ever more unpredictable.

The game sees players venture into dungeons and participate in action combat in order to find food to serve to the guests. With every successful venture, players earn new rewards to develop the inn and in turn obtain new encounters and events.
