Blighted Pushed to 2027

Developer Drinkbox Studios announced that it has pushed back the release window for 3D Metroidvania-style action RPG Blighted. Previously planned to release for PC and Nintendo Switch 2 this fall, the game is now planned to release in 2027.

The latest title from the Nobody Saves the World and Guacamelee! developer, Blighted sees players battle through a “psychedelic western nightmare” as they try to reclaim the memories of their people, whose dead are buried with seeds planted in their brains that grew into trees bearing fruit imbued with memories. Players control the sole survivor of the village after Sorcisto consumes the populace, destroys its forest  and infects the world with a deadly Blight. They seek to reclaim their ancestors’ memories before being overtaken by the Blight, which offers both power and danger, acting as a dynamic difficulty system that alters the player, enemies, and the world. The game will include drop-in/drop-out co-op multiplayer.
