Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy Companion Laarthyr Cairnareth Introduced

Owlcat Games released a new trailer for cRPG Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy introducing companion character Laarthyr Cairnareth. Laarthyr is an Aeldari who abandoned his Craftworld and people’s rigid tradition for journey among the stars. He is a Way Seeker — with Psyker abilities to navigate the Webway and guide Aeldari souls to the spirit stones — and sees joining the protagonist as offering benefits for both of them, though at the risk of the protagonist being branded a radical for consorting with a xeno. He is a strong close-quarters fighter able to strike enemy weak points with dual swords, and can also impart knowledge of the mysteries of the Warp and the culture of xenos.

A follow-up to Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy sees players control an acolyte of the Inquisition in the backdrop of the catastrophic event known as the Noctis Aeterna. They embark on various investigations accompanied by their warband, which includes both loyal Imperials and Xenos. The game is in development for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with a release window not yet announced. A closed beta version is currently available on PC for all those who have purchased one of the game’s Founder’s Packs through its official website.
