Veritas Tales: Witch of the Dark Castle Releasing in July

Developer Digitalis Publishing and publisher 15 Industry (Ichigo Industry) have announced that neo-classic digital gamebook RPG Veritas Tales: Witch of the Dark Castle will release on July 9, 2026. The game will be available for PC via Steam, with a new trailer viewable below that was showcased as part of the BitSummit Punch Mixtape programme.

Veritas Tales: Witch of the Dark Castle is billed as following the spirit of The NeverEnding Story and sees players play as either warrior Havelock or mage Paneri, who set out to challenge Ingeborg, the witch inhabiting a dark castle near the plague-stricken capital of Erishing. The game is created by Yoshio Nishimura, who previously worked as an art designer at Vanillaware on titles including 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, Dragon’s Crown, and Odin Sphere. Players encounter various events and make choices that will alter how the adventure plays out. They will likely pay many visits to Page 14, which marks their death, but are able to rewind time and revisit their choices.
