I love Unlimited Saga! There I said it. I know even SaGa fans hate it, but I think it’s really fun game with beautiful music and art. It just very poorly explains its systems and some aspects of it feel extremely unfinished. You should use a guide when playing it probably. Save often! I think it could be amazing game if remastered, and it’s the last SaGa game to be ported to modern systems. Herrfrog should totally play it! 😉

Although “hate” is a perhaps too strong a term, EarthBound Beginning/Mother 1 is often overlooked by people and is considered the weakest in the Mother/EarthBound trilogy. Despite its high encounter rate, simple battles, difficult final area, and lacking a lot of the improvements of the later two games, I love the first game to bits. There’s just something so charming about EarthBound Beginnings, and I love the music.

Depending on your definition of janky, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World could count as well. I chafe a bit at calling it an old game, but it is almost 18-years-old and came out three Nintendo generations ago. My love that game is well-know by now.
