The Secret of Weepstone Gets New Trailer, Demo

Developer Talesworth Game Studio and publisher DreadXP released a new trailer and a demo for black-and-white dungeon-crawler The Secret of Weepstone. The trailer, revealed during the latest Indie Horror Showcase, shows snippets of gameplay. The demo, available for PC via Steam, lets players explore the first level of the game with a party of six characters.

The Secret of Weepstone is inspired by tabletop adventures such as 1970s and 1980s D&D campaigns. It is set in the eponymous village of Weepstone, which was once thriving but now struggles with barren fields and its people in fear. The local lord, Byron, is bedridden and plagued by supernatural night terrors. It is up to the villagers to explore the nearby ruined keep to uncover and defeat whatever might be the cause.

Players control a party of up to eight members, facing traps, puzzles, foes, and more as they explore the keep. The game features dice rolls for combat and skill checks, with party members able to equip various weapons, armour, and magic items. The Secret of Weepstone is planned to release in 2026 and is available to wishlist on Steam.

Fascinated by the screens since I saw them, video games are a sorcery I quickly became obsessed with. This passion culminated with the discovery of the RPGs. At that time, they were likely the sole titles where story and world building mattered as much as gameplay. Now, I am writing about them, especially my favorite ones: the JRPGs!
