Telenet RPG Collection Announced for Switch in Japan

Publisher Edia has announced the Telenet RPG Collection, a bundle of three Super Famicom RPGs originally released by Telenet Japan, which closed in 2007. The collection — containing Dark Kingdom, Hiouden: Mamono-tachi tono Chikai, and Neugier: Umi to Kaze no Kodō, none of which released outside of Japan — will release in Japan on November 27, 2025, for Nintendo Switch with physical standard and special editions available.

Dark Kingdom released for Super Famicom in Japan in 1994. The game is a turn-based RPG where players control a mercenary who decides to join forces with the Demon King, undertaking missions and attempting to rise up the castle’s hierarchy.

Hiouden: Mamono-tachi tono Chikai released for NEC PC-98 in 1992 before releasing on Super Famicom in 1994 and was created by Wolf Team, which later became the Namco Tales Studio. The game is a strategy RPG and made optional use of the Super Famicom Mouse peripheral. It follows Richard A. MacIntyre, whose castle is taken over, with him being the only survivor. He is given the power to summon demons and seeks to retake his home.

Neugier: Umi to Kaze no Kodō released for Super Famicom in 1993 and was also developed by Wolf Team. A western release was planned under the title The Journey Home: Quest for the Throne, but was cancelled. The game is an action RPG that follows Duke, who returns to save his home of Neugier despite being exiled.
