Turn-Based Tactical RPG Critical Shift Releasing This Year

Developer Rhinotales Studio has announced turn-based tactical RPG Critical Shift. The game is planned to release later this year on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. It is available to wishlist now on Steam.

Critical Shift is set around a top-secret research station in Antarctica called ICE-1, which sends a distress signal before communications are cut off. Players command a squad of elite agents sent to investigate the station, located under the ice and host to hundreds of scientists and soldiers. The station is known to hold reality-bending objects that could mark the end of the world if they were to get out.

The game’s turn-based combat system is billed as having a heavy focus on tactical decisions and managing limited resources without players needing to worry about attack rolls and the like. Players will encounter a number of threats as they explore the underground complex, including creatures with a hive intelligence and the creations of an insane AI.
