Surreal Card-Based RPG Out of Hands Out Now
Game River and Lightning Games have released Out of Hands for PC via Steam. The game is billed as a strange and eerie psychological card-based RPG and is priced at $17.99 with a 15% launch discount, with a Deluxe Edition containing a digital art book and soundtrack also available. It is currently available in English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Japanese, with German, French, and Korean language support planned to be added during May.
Out of Hands puts players in a dreamscape taking on the role of a protagonist grappling with the death of a loved one. It takes them to nightmares where reality, memory, and emotion blur together in unsettling ways, with each of the four nightmares including side quests and map exploration. The game uses real video footage cut into collages with card-game combat where players use their deck to counter enemy attacks while attempting to strike them down in return. An additional replayable challenge mode is planned to be added in June.
