Path of Exile 2: Dawn of the Hunt Update Available Now
Grinding Gear Games has released a new update for its Early Access release of Path of Exile 2. The “Dawn of the Hunt” update features the addition of the Huntress class, as well as new Ascendancies and endgame content.
The Huntress focuses on agile combat that blends melee and ranged attacks using a spear and animal companions. An Azmeri warrior born into a strict traditionalist society, they are exiled after using a skill gem to defend their village. The class comes with two Ascendancy classes: the Ritualist embraces the ritualistic sacrifice Azmeri traditions, while the Amazon is a trained elite guard who has mastered their combat techniques. The update also adds three other Ascendancy class: the Warrior’s Smiths of Kitava, the Mercenary’s Tactician, and the Witch’s Lich.
The expansion to the endgame includes the addition of a corruption cleansing mechanic, where players must defeat bosses in the Corrupted Nexus found within regions of corruption across Wraeclast. There is also significant rebalancing of the endgame, with fewer but more powerful towers, as well as seven new endgame maps. Other content includes over 100 new support gems and over 100 new mid and endgame items.
Path of Exile 2‘s Early Access version is currently available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game is set many years after the events of Path of Exile. The full game will feature a brand new six-act main storyline as well as twelve starting character classes with each class also having three Ascendancy specialisations. In order to allow players to access the endgame in Early Access, the current version features the first three acts of the campaign, which are then repeated on a harder “cruel” difficulty option so that player characters will be an appropriate level for the endgame content.
