Sultan’s Game Draws Its Cards Later This Month

Developer Double Cross Studio and publisher 2P Games announced the release date for their card-based RPG Sultan’s Game. The title, which underwent a successful crowdfunding campaign on Chinese platform MoDian, will launch on March 31, 2025, for PC via Steam.

Sultan’s Game puts the player in the role of a minister forced to participate in a game organised by his tyrannical sultan. He must draw a card each week, which prompts him to either seek carnal pleasures, make extravagant expenses, take part in dangerous expeditions, or provide human sacrifices. Failing to fulfill the task comes with dire consequences.

The player must play cards each turn to allocate allies, resources, and task objectives. They can complete NPC quests to recruit allies and earn equipment, take advantage of the sultan’s demands to eliminate enemies, and build influence through the political intrigues. The game features multiple endings, such as becoming a trusted minister, scheming to end the sultan’s tyrannical rule, or summoning dark gods to destroy everything. Those interested in the game can try out the demo available on Steam.

Fascinated by the screens since I saw them, video games are a sorcery I quickly became obsessed with. This passion culminated with the discovery of the RPGs. At that time, they were likely the sole titles where story and world building mattered as much as gameplay. Now, I am writing about them, especially my favorite ones: the JRPGs!
