Experimental Narrative RPG HYPERxFANTASY Announced

Developer Onyxprism announced its experimental narrative RPG HYPERxFANTASY. The game is billed as drawing heavy inspiration from NieR: Automata and Blade Runner, taking players to a brutalist dystopia where they help save people by guiding their souls into a digital afterlife.

Controlling a character known as Dreamer, players are tasked the enigmatic Executor with digitising everyone in order save them, soon finding themselves unocovering a conspiracy within the world’s hierarchy. They use a glider to traverse the vast, abstract spaces of an endless megastructure. Players advance non-linear storylines through branching dialogue as well as participating in directional swordplay and rhythm-infused mini-games. The storytelling presentation will undergo various shifts as the game progresses.

HYPERxFANTASY is currently planned to release on PC in 2025, with a Nintendo Switch version also planned. It is currently available to wishlist on Steam.
