The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Receives Overview Trailer

Nintendo released a further trailer for the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom ahead of the game’s release this month. The six-minute overview trailer, viewable below, offers an introduction to the game’s version of Hyrule, and its premise where Princess Zelda takes on the protagonist role as the people of Hyrule, including Link, are stolen away by strange rifts.

The game sees Zelda gaining a tool called the Tri Rod, which is bestowed on her when she partners with the fairy Tri. The Tri Rod allows Zelda to create echoes to recreate various things found in the environments she explores, including monsters, which can be used to solve puzzles and defeat enemies. In addition, Zelda can bind herself to objects, causing them to follow her movements, or use reverse bond to have her follow another object’s movement.

In addition, Zelda can temporarily enter swordfighter form to directly battle alongside echoes. The gauge can be replenished by finding energy in the Still World, another realm found within the rifts plaguing Hyrule, which each have their own enivornments and puzzles. Other tools available to Zelda include wind-up automatons.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom will include a variety of quests across Hyrule where Zelda helps its citizens across her travels. Zelda can also ride a horse, make smoothies from collected ingredients, and obtain various ability-enhancing outfits and accessories. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is set to release for Nintendo Switch on September 26, 2024.
