The Life and Suffering of Prince Jerian Announced
Developer Schmisa Games and publisher 101XP Publishing have formally announced the narrative-driven indie RPG The Life and Suffering of Prince Jerian. The game, a follow-up to The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante, is available to wishlist on Steam.
In a world shaped by the gods, Prince Jerian of House Tempest deals with the harsh gap between nobility and the poor as he begins his life-long journey of becoming the ruler of the Arkinan Empire. The game starts in his childhood and continues into his adulthood, where he becomes emperor, a role he’s been prepped for since birth.
Players must navigate political waters and carefully pay attention to their nation’s culture and assets as they make decisions that have consequences. Strife begins to boil in the country, with commoners demanding equal rights, noble houses hoping to keep old traditions alive, and the treasury’s funds beginning to slowly run out as estates bicker amongst each other. In addition to this, Jerian is also the Primate, a being who joins the world of the living and the spiritual in addition to acting as the keeper of the Pact, an agreement between the gods known as the Twins and those under their domain.
