Shuffle Tactics Reveals Its Cards Next Year

Publisher The Arcade Crew and developer Club Sandwich announced Shuffle Tactics. The title, planned to be released in 2025 for PC (via Steam), is a tactical RPG with a mixture of roguelite and deckbuilding elements. An alpha playtest will launch on July 24, 2024, with those wishing to take part in this test being able to request access through the game’s Steam page.

Shuffle Tactics takes place in the medieval world of Asteria, where King Ogma brought a curse upon his own kingdom after a failed attempt to resurrect his deceased wife. The resulting curse turned the king and his subjects into malevolent creatures while granting special powers to the player-controlled heroes, who are tasked with saving the cursed kingdom.

Combat takes place on isometric maps, where the units’ placement grants various bonuses or penalties. Players can hire sidekicks to aid them in battle, each possessing their own forte across a range of disciplines including magic, healing, and archery. The game features a roster of twenty different sidekicks, hundreds of cards, and various mythical relics, with which players can build and customise the team of their liking.

Fascinated by the screens since I saw them, video games are a sorcery I quickly became obsessed with. This passion culminated with the discovery of the RPGs. At that time, they were likely the sole titles where story and world building mattered as much as gameplay. Now, I am writing about them, especially my favorite ones: the JRPGs!
