Riviera: The Promised Land Available on Mobile in Japan

Developer Sting has released its remaster of Riviera: The Promised Land on iOS and Android in Japan. The mobile version is available for 2,800 yen and joins the Nintendo Switch version released in February 2024. A PC release is also planned. A western release for the remaster has not been announced, though the developer did release its Yggdra Union: We’ll Never Fight Alone remaster internationally last year.

Riviera: The Promised Land is the first title in the Dept. Heaven series, which draws from Norse mythology, and was originally released for the WonderSwan Color in Japan in 2002. It was later ported to Game Boy Advance and PlayStation Portable; the Game Boy Advance version was released in North America, while the PlayStation Portable version was released in North America and Europe. The game follows Ein, a Grim Angel who is required to battle against demons as well as other Grim Angels. He is joined by heroines Fia, Lina, Serene, and Cierra, as well as feline familiar Rose, with the game including dating sim elements and multiple endings.
