Marvelous Game Showcase Teases Upcoming Titles

Marvelous held its second annual Marvelous Game Showcase, during which the developer and publisher revealed many of its upcoming titles. The event was introduced by President Suminobu Sato, who was joined by members of the development teams behind the games, and is viewable in full below.

Of relevance to RPGamers, Farmagia is the title previously known as Project Magia. It was initially announced in 2023 and is about people and monster working together, featuring designs from illustrator Hiro Mashima (Fairy Tail, Edens Zero). Product Manager Takehiro Ishida introduced the game’s opening movie and main characters. Main protagonist Ten is bold and tends to act first, and he is joined by childhood friend Arche who is competitive but kind at heart. The other characters detailed are Chica, another of Ten’s childhood friends who is more reserved but can take charge during battle, and mascot character Lookie-Loo, who joins Ten as a sidekick. Farmagia is planned to release in 2024.

The presentation also revealed that a new entry in the Bokujō Monogatari/Story of Seasons farming sim series is currently in development. The new game has not yet been titled, with Series Manager Hikaru Nakano stating that the team is currently focusing on improvements into its visual presentation and environments. More details will be revealed at a later date, but the game will include a player-controlled glider and pets.

In addition, Director Shiro Maekawa revealed new footage of Rune Factory: Project Dragon. The latest title in the action RPG spin-off series to Bokujō Monogatari/Story of Seasons, Rune Factory: Project Dragon will see players controlling one of two protagonists: Subaru or Kaguya. In contrast to previous protagonists, the duo use the power of dance instead of farming to interact with the world. The game will feature familiar weapons from the series like swords, plus new ones including bows and talismans. It will also add new non-combat tools such as parasols and drums.

Finally, Marvelous shared a quick teaser for Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion, its sequel to mecha action title Daemon X Machina. Details about the game are currently scarce, but the company promises that platforms and a release window will be revealed at a later date.
