Crown Wars: The Black Prince Trailer Revealed

Publisher Nacon revealed a new trailer for Artefacts Studio’s strategy RPG Crown Wars: The Black Prince. The minute-long video, titled “The Art of War”, showcases the game’s combat system. The game will launch on March 14, 2024 for PC (via Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with preorders currently available. A preview of the title can be found here.

Crown Wars: The Black Prince is set in 14th century-France during the Hundred Years’ War. Players assume the role of an individual that belongs to one of four French noble houses. In charge of their own domain, the protagonist must take part in violent conflicts that will determine the fate of the kingdom. Among the threats looming over the kingdom is an evil organization known as the Order.

The game offers a campaign where players can send their troops in various locations of France to fight the opposing factions. The turn-based battles take place on maps where the units’ placement grants various bonuses or penalties. The units under the control of the player can be from six different classes each with their own skills and preferred weapons. Another aspect of the gameplay involves upgrading the domain which the protagonist is in charge of. The upgrades made can lead to the development of better facilities, consumables or weapons which will in turn help in battles.

Fascinated by the screens since I saw them, video games are a sorcery I quickly become obsessed with. This passion culminated with the discovery of the RPG. At the time, they were likely the sole titles where story and world building mattered as more as gameplay. Now, I am, writing about them, especially my favorite ones, the JRPG!
