Dustgrave Shows Its Combat System

Publisher Digital Tribe and developer Innervoid Interactive released a new developer diary video for sandbox RPG Dustgrave. The three-minute video introduces the game’s turn-based tactical combat system.

Combat is built around seven different action templates — Fast Attack, Strong Attack, Simple Spell, Empowered Spell, Shout, Guard, and Dash — which are accessed by equipping different weapons, armour, or items. Each turn, players are granted two action points. Some actions will use one action point, while more powerful ones will use both. Players are able to use base actions as they are, but can also combine them with unlocked skills, which apply modifiers and effects to that action.

Dustgrave is set around the fall of the Dahlan Empire as it suffers from a plague, internal unrest, and invasions. Players are given the freedom to act as they wish, with record and relationship tracking systems allowing NPCs to react accordingly and the story to progress differently depending on the player’s choices and actions. The game is in development for PC and is available to wishlist on Steam.
